Bulgarian for foreigners

Prices for teenagers are per sixty-minute class.  For better teaching efficiency students do a minimum of two classes at one time.

The total price of the course is determined after the number of classes is agreed on and paid before the teaching starts. In courses longer than 100 classes payment in two installments is possible. To receive a tailor-made price offer according to your needs and requirements, please contact us.

After the course schedule is approved, it is possible to reschedule up to two classes a month, which should be made up for during the same month.

Teaching at home is available but transportation should be provided by the client or the fare for it covered.

Types of courses:

Basic survival Bulgarian – level 1

Alphabet and reading skills – reading signs, menus, theatre programmes, leaflets and other ads; functional conversations in a restaurant, taxi, shop, at the market, dentist’s, doctor’s, the vet office, the barber’s, the beauty salon; asking for and giving directions in the street; small talk and personal conversations; any other subjects at your request.

Very basic grammar is introduced only as a support to the development of functional skills.

More advanced basic Bulgarian – level 2

This course elaborates on the subjects and skills developed at level one, developing also simple writing skills (thank you and other cards, personal letters, etc.), more detailed reading skills (newspaper headlines, personal letters, etc.) and more detailed listening and speaking skills with emphasis on intonation and body language.

At this stage more grammar is introduced and students are taught how to apply correctly some of the very basic rules, which builds confidence in the acquired language expertise and broadens the base for acquiring more functional knowledge.

A Fluency Module in Bulgarian – level 3

This course is suitable for students who have already done a number of classes in Bulgarian and would like to work on their accuracy and fluency in using the language.

A course book is used for the classes and students build a greater vocabulary base together with a lot more grammar practice.
